PSV Eindhoven continue to keep up the pressure on Ajax, with Sunday's 2-0 win at Groningen keeping them in touch with their Amsterdam rivals.

Ajax continue to set the pace in De Eredivisie, but PSV are sure to push them all the way judged on the win over Groningen.

Groningen are fighting for points of their own as they look to steer clear of the drop zone and they frustrated PSV for the opening 30 minutes.

However, Wilfred Bouma broke the deadlock from a free kick on 32 minutes.

The goal sparked PSV into life and incisive play from John de Jong handed Jan vennegoor of Hesselink the chance to kill the game off and he made no mistake.

Ajax maintained the status quo, though, as they battled to a 1-0 win over NEC Nijmegen.

Ronald Koeman's troops were not at their fluent best, but a goal just after the hour mark by Belgian star Wesley Sonck secured a vital three points.

Feyenoord were made to work hard to see off Utrecht.

The Rotterdammers have been somewhat inconsistent this term and the Kuip faithful looked set for a frustrating afternoon when Stefaan Tanghe and Richal Leitoe had Utrecht two up inside 26 minutes.

However, Thomas Buffel gave Feyenoord hope with a reply before the interval.

The final 15 minutes turned into the Danko Lazovic show as he fired in two goals, the first a rebound after a penalty was saved and the second a header, to pinch what seemed an unlikely victory for Feyenoord.
