AZ Alkmaar survived a scare against non-league GVVV to book their place in the last four of the Dutch Cup.

The visitors had threatened a huge shock as they went ahead at the AFAS Stadion with Dennis van Meegdenburg scoring after ten-minutes.

But two goals, one in each half, from Belgian ace Maarten Martens rescued Geert Verbeek's men.

The night's other match saw Heracles cruise into the semi-finals with a 3-0 win over RKC Waalwijk.

Goals before the break came from Samuel Armenteros and Kwame Quansah.

The win was sealed on the hour with Mark Vejinovic scoring.
