Utrecht are hoping to tie down promising defender Erik Pieters to a long-term contract.
Pieters recently made his debut for Holland's Under 21s and has not been offered fresh terms at his club.
Utrecht have handed Pieters a deal until 2012, which proves they feel he has a long-term future at Nieuw Galgewaard.
Pieters' agent is expected to meet with club officials on Tuesday where his client will extend his Utrecht stay.
Meanwhile, Utrecht have handed a trial to Romanian Lucian Sanmartean, who is available on a free transfer.
Sanmartean, who has four caps for his country, has played the last three years for Greek outfit Panathinaikos.
The 26-year-old is keen to stay in Holland and has also arranged to undergo a trial with Utrecht's Eredivisie rivals AZ Alkmaar.
