Martijn Meerdink has admitted that he would consider a switch to Groningen, but claims he needs to tie up some loose ends with AZ Alkmaar before considering his next move.
AZ coach Louis van Gaal confirmed earlier in the month that the 30-year-old could head away from the club in the January window and this prompted Groningen to come forward with an offer.
Meerdink is open to making the move to Groningen, but has issued a note of caution.
"It's a great club with a nice stadium," Meerdink told Voetbal International. "But it is no use talking about this until things are complete with AZ.
"We will first talk with AZ and then we will see what the range of possibilities are."
