Winning 3-0 from the first leg Ajax put themselves even further in control with Mauro Rosales firing them in front on 34 minutes.

Klaas Jan Huntelaar added a second five minutes before the break and Nourdin Boukhari got in on the act with the third six minutes after half time.

Dirk Kuyt pulled a goal back for Feyenoord on 58 minutes, but Nicolae Mitea restored the two-goal cushion ten minutes from time.

Romano Denneboom put NEC in firm control with the second goal on 49 minutes, but two late strikes from Thijs Sluijter (79 & 82) turned the game on its head.

Heracles pushed forward in search of another goal to level the aggregate scores, but NEC held on to progress.
