Martijn Meerdink has expressed delight at signing a new deal at AZ Alkmaar.The forward has proved a major success at AZ and after losing Kenneth Perez to Ajax, manager Louis van Gaal moved to secure the services of Meerdink on a long-term contract.
Meerdink had little hesitation in agreeing to the terms on offer, with the forward now tied to AZ until the summer of 2010.
"I'm very happy with this, I see a lot of potential at AZ," Meerdink told Voetbal International.
"Kew Jaliens and Henk Timmer have already extended and I hope that even more players choose AZ. We can still grow a lot."
