AZ Alkmaar are considering a summer move for Hansa Rostock striker Marcus Allback.

The Sweden international is being lined up for a return to De Eredivisie, with AZ rumoured to be keen on acquiring his services.

Allback joined Hansa last August from Aston Villa but may only be spending a season in Die Bundesliga.

If Hansa succumb to relegation - they are currently six points from safety - then the 31-year-old is not expected to stay at Rostock.

The forward previously played in Holland for Heerenveen before he spent an unsuccessful two-year spell in The Premiership with Villa.

He has already been linked with Cologne, Malmo and Orgryte but a move back to De Eredivisie could appeal for Allback.

AZ perceive Allback to be the ideal replacement for Robin Nelisse, who will not be extending his contract with the UEFA Champions League hopefuls.

Ali Elkhattabi is also tipped to leave AZ in the summer and that has prompted Ajax's Yannis Anastasiou to be put forward as another possible recruit.

Anastasiou may leave the Amsterdam ArenA on a free transfer and the Greek attacker would be a useful tool to have on the bench.
