AZ Alkmaar legend Michael Buskermolen has signed a new deal with the surprise Dutch title-contenders.
The 32-year-old, nicknamed 'Mr. AZ', has agreed terms on a new one-year deal keeping him at the club until the summer of 2006.
Buskermolen is the side's all time record appearance holder with 447 games under his belt, and has played 14 league ties so far this season.
AZ had made it clear that they would keep hold of the midfielder during the winter period, and have promised him a new role at the club after he retires.
In other news, coach Co Adriaanse may have to do without Kenneth Perez and Denny Landzaat for the Uefa Cup clash against Alemania Aachen.
Both players have 'flu, and Adriaanse may utilise midfielder Barry van Galen depending on whether Landzaat recovers in time.
"[van Galen] is only considered for the place behind the striker, where Adil Ramzi plays now," said Adriaanse.
"If Landzaat doesn't make it, I can also use Ramzi as a right midfielder."
Unlike Buskermolen, 34-year-old van Galen is yet to commit his future to the club.
