PSV could only manage a draw away to Willem II on Saturday, although they still look odds-on to win the Eredivisie title, needing four points from their remaining games to secure the award.

Manchester United target Kevin Hofland (pictured) headed in an opener for PSV after just 25 minutes but the home side fought back to level matters just eight minutes later, through Tom Caluwe.

The draw leaves PSV first on 71 points, 12 ahead of Feyenoord.

Vitesse Arnhem moved into fifth with a 2-1 win over De Graafschap.

Matthew Amoah put the home side ahead in the 16th minute but the visitors battling qualities were well rewarded when John van den Brom got the equaliser midway through the second half.

However, Vitesse seem set for European action next season as Bob Peeters smashed in the winner 17 minutes from the end.

At the bottom Sparta Rotterdam look doomed after falling to a 3-1 home loss to Heerenveen.

The visitors went ahead seven minutes before the interval through Markus Allback and although Ali Elkhattabi levelled matters two minutes later from the spot, Sparta still found themselves 2-1 down at the break.

Humphrey Rudge put through his own goal to give Heerenveen a lead they would not relinquish.

Allback's second in the 63rd minute was the icing on the cake which leaves Sparta still four points from safety.

Fortuna Sittard gave themselves a chance of securing Eredivisie football with a 1-1 home draw against Groningen.

Roel Janssen had given the visitors the lead just before the hour mark, only for Joos Volmer to score a potentially vital goal with just five minutes remaining.

Twente Enschede pulled clear of the relegation battle with a 1-0 win over fellow battlers AZ Alkmaar.

Simon Cziommer got the only goal of the game in the 64th minute, which proved too much for Jan Kromkamp who saw red with two minutes to go in game as frustration got the better of the AZ star.
