Sky sources understand that Southampton have made a bid for Feyenoord striker Graziano Pelle.

The Italian striker has been sensational in the Eredivisie in the past two seasons, since joining from Sampdoria, with 50 goals for the Rotterdam outfit.

Southampton have now made an offer for Pelle, although it is understood their first bid is short of Feyenoord's €12million valuation of the front-man.

Ronald Koeman sees Pelle as the perfect replacement for Rickie Lambert and it is understood that Southampton are confident of completing a deal in the coming days.

Southampton have also made a move for FC Twente's Dusan Tadic, with Koeman raiding the Dutch market which he knows very well.
