Stopper close to Wisla Krakow deal

Out-of-favour AZ Alkmaar defender Kew Jaliens is on the brink of a move to Polish club Wisla Krakow. The 32-year-old underwent a medical at the club on Sunday and is expected to sign a two-and-a-half-year deal in the near future. Jaliens has enjoyed some of the best years of his career at AZ, but has only played six Eredivisie matches for the club under coach Gertjan Verbeek this season. The stopper, who started his career with Sparta Rotterdam, arrived in Alkmaar from Willem II in 2004. He has won 10 caps for the Dutch national side, the last of which came in 2009. Wisla Krakow, who are 12-time Polish champions, are currently second in their top-flight.
