Feyenoord have announced that striker Roy Makaay is to retire from football at the end of the season.
A statement on the Eredivisie club's official website has confirmed that the 35-year-old has told technical director Leo Beenhakker of his plans.
Makaay's last game for the club could be the second leg of this season's cup final against Ajax at De Kuip on 6th May.
The Feyenoord statement read: "Roy Makaay is playing his final weeks as a professional footballer.
"The striker has told Feyenoord technical director Leo Beenhakker in a personal conversation that he is to stop after this season and will enter into a new adventure elsewhere."
The former Holland international began his career at Vitesse Arnhem in 1993 before moving on to Tenerife, Deportivo La Coruna and Bayern Munich prior to joining Feyenoord in 2007.
