Ajax goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer has signed a three-year contract extension at the Amsterdam Arena.
The 23-year-old's previous deal was due to expire at the end of the season, but boss Martin Jol was keen to retain the shot-stopper as back-up to Maarten Stekelenburg.
Vermeer was also more than happy to sign a new agreement and has now set his sights on securing regular first-team football.
He told his club's official website: "My first aim is to be Ajax goalkeeper.
"Ajax wanted me on a longer contract and it was my intention to stay at the club.
"I never had any doubts about staying at Ajax. Now it is up to me to continue to perform at my best."
