PSV Eindhoven remain convinced Blackburn Rovers defender Andre Ooijer will join in the summer.
Ooijer is out of contract at Ewood Park at the end of the season and is intending to return to his native Holland.
The experienced defender recently admitted that he expects to finalise a move to outgoing Dutch champions PSV once Blackburn's campaign is concluded.
However, Rovers captain Ryan Nelsen is not giving up hope that the 34-year-old could be persuaded to sign a new deal with the Premier League strugglers.
Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce has also confirmed that the versatile stopper has not yet signed a pre-contract agreement to return to Philips Stadion.
But PSV director Jan Reker believes only a medical is preventing Ooijer from finalising a move back to the club he left for Blackburn in 2006.
Reker said: "The fact that Andre will play for PSV next season is definitive.
"Andre only needs to take his medical. That will happen after the end of the season."
