Dutch club sign Danish ace for 2.2million Euros

FC Groningen have announced the signing of striker Nicklas Pedersen from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland. Pedersen, 21, has joined for 2.2million euros (£2million) and signed a four-and-a-half year deal with the club but still has to undergo a medical on Tuesday. If the Denmark U21 international passes that then he will fly out with his new team-mates to a winter training camp in Spain to prepare for their next fixture away at Sparta in two weeks time. Pedersen made a name for himself at Danish side Herfolge BK where he scored 22 league goals in 44 games. His form earned him a move to fellow Danish club FC Nordsjaelland where he scored nine goals in 22 games thus attracting the attention of Groningen. Club manager Ron Jas was on the look-out for a new striker after selling Berry Powel to ADO Den Haag as the player was unhappy with his role in the squad. Jas will be hoping that Pedersen can help his side improve their current league form which has seen them win one out of their last six games leaving them seventh in the Eredivisie.
