Ajax striker Leonardo has begun his comeback after nine months out with a cruciate ligament tear.
The 24-year-old Brazilian suffered the injury against SC Heerenveen in March, but has taken the first steps of his recovery after completing a training session with his team-mates.
"Finally it went well again and I am truly happy about that," Leonardo told the club's official website after coming through the session unscathed.
"When or in which game [I will return] I cannot tell yet, it is still too early for that, but after eight months of rehabilitating of course you want to play.
"I train fully, and if it keeps going well, then a game will come naturally."
