Dutch side make move for young striker

IFK Gothenburg starlet Marcus Berg has reportedly caught the eye of Dutch side FC Groningen. Groningen are believed to have lodged an offer for the 20-year-old, amid interest from an assortment of Dutch and French sides. Berg fired home 13 times in just 16 appearances for Gothenburg last season, and potential suitors will have to move quickly in order to overcome rival interest. The Swedish youngster has confirmed that Holland is his desired location, and his side are likely to demand that any interested clubs stump up at least 5million euros for the striker. "I would like to play in Holland," he revealed. "There are many Swedes who have moved on from that league." However, Gothenburg sports director Hakan Mild seems keen to hold on to Berg, and refused to comment on any possible transfer activity. "Naturally, we would like to keep Marcus in Gothenburg, but I can't comment on what is going on right now," he said.
