Sonck in hot water

Borussia Monchengladbach striker Wesley Sonck has been banished to the reserves.

Borussia Monchengladbach striker Wesley Sonck has been dropped from the Foals' squad after a training ground incident.

New Gladbach coach Jos Luhukay handed the Belgian international a fine and relegated him to club's reserve team after Sonck was involved in a confrontation with fellow striker Kahe.

"I can't accept players behaving towards team-mates the way Wesley did," Luhukay commented.

"If we want to turn things around here at Borussia we all have to work together.

"I don't always pick the best players, but I do pick the best team," he added.

Sonck joined Gladbach from Ajax in January 2005, but has failed to make an impression at the Bundesliga outfit. He will now miss Saturday's crucial derby with fellow strugglers Alemannia Aachen.
