Borussia Monchengladbach's Wesley Sonck has suffered a fresh injury blow with the news he needs more surgery on his groin.
The Belgian international striker missed a huge chunk of last season due to the problem and he has now damaged it again.
Sonck is not expected to play again for Borussia until next year.
"We shouldn't expect that Wesley will be able to play during the first part of the season again," revealed a devastated Foals coach Horst Koppel.
Sonck moved to Germany from Ajax for £2.8 million at the end of last year, but his injuries have thus far curtailed him to just seven Bundesliga appearances.
