Elber made to wait

Giovane Elber will have to wait to make his Borussia Monchengladbach debut.

Borussia Monchengladbach striker Giovane Elber will have to wait to make his debut for the Foals.

The former Stuttgart and Bayern Munich star, who has not played since breaking his fibula in August, had originally targeted Saturday's match at Hansa Rostock to return.

However, he will no longer be able to play this weekend and requires a few more weeks' rest before being able to don the Monchengladbach shirt.

"It's still difficult to say when I can start training properly again and then get into the starting line-up," Elber told Express.

"I'm still having problems when running. It will take a bit more time, but I will be back."

The news comes as a further blow to Foals coach Dick Advocaat whose team have failed to pull clear of relegation danger despite several new signings this winter.
