BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH have started planning for the future by extending the contracts of two of their most exciting talents.

The five-time Bundesliga champions announced on Wednesday that they will be making use of options on the futures of 21-year-old Benjamin Auer and 22-year-old Bernd Korzynietz.

Highly-rated striker Auer has impressed this season for the Bokelberg outfit, and netted his first-ever Bundesliga goal for The Foals against Stuttgart last weekend.

Auer's new deal will keep him at Gladbach until the summer of 2003, while midfield star Korzynietz has accepted a three-year extension until June 2005.

Gladbach are keen to tie them down to new deals to ward off any potential suitors for the duo.
