Germany international Philipp Wollscheid insists he does not want to be loaned out this summer.
The 25-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from Bayer Leverkusen following the arrival of Kyrgiakos Papadopoulos, with Hamburg and Southampton linked with bids.
But Wollscheid says he will not accept a loan, as he wants either a permanent move away or he will stay with Bayer.
"To move away on loan would be a weird situation, I do not know that kind of move yet. It's not even a situation I am out for!" he told Rheinische Post
"Should I agree a transfer I do not know if this would be a step back for me, if it's better to sit on the bench of a UEFA Champions League side or play regular matches elsewhere.
"I just know that I am not happy being just on the bench."
