FSV Mainz 05 general manager Christian Heidel has announced he is willing to sit down with Jan Kirchhoff in a bid to negotiate a new deal.
The German side have recently agreed a new contract for Hungary international Adam Szalai, and Heidel is hoping to extend Kirchhoff's deal, which expires at the end of next season.
Heidel told BILD: "Jan Kirchhoff is a regular who is part of our plans for the future and he will be carrying on playing for our club in the new season.
"We would be glad to discuss a new contract with Jan as soon as possible.
"We are not out to put him under any pressure with regard to this."
The 21-year-old has scored twice in 13 appearances for the Germany Under-21 side, and has played 39 games in the Bundesliga since 2010.
