Bolton manager insists his forwards will help the club avoid the drop

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has backed his strike-force to score the goals to keep the club in the Premier League. The Trotters failed to score a single goal over the Easter period as they lost 3-0 to Fulham and 2-0 to Newcastle. It brought an end to their winning run of three games and they have now found themselves back in the relegation zone in the Premier League. Ivan Klasnic is the club's leading scorer with nine goals this term while Kevin Davies is second in the list with five goals. But it has been their defensive record which has been holding them back, with only Blackburn and Wolves having conceded more goals. They do not play again until April 21 due to the FA Cup semi-finals, but face tough games against the likes of Tottenham, Sunderland and Stoke in their run-in. But Coyle is remaining optimistic and insists his squad is capable of producing and converting chances.

Chances

He told the Bolton Evening News: "We have got people who can score goals. "You can have facts and stats about strikers not scoring but they don't show that the team is creating chances, great ones. "Take the first half hour out of the equation against Fulham and I think we have been terrific for large parts of the last two games, even though I accept they are games we have lost. "I accept when they come you have to be clinical, be ruthless, because the Premier League can be unforgiving. "But I have no doubt that in the next six games we will get the goals to help us get the points that we need."
