Alemannia Aachen's hopes of avoiding the drop in Germany have been further hit by an injury to Sascha Rosler.
The Bundesliga minnows only recently saw former Middlesbrough man Szilard Nemeth ruled out for six months, and now fellow striker Rosler is expected to be absent until the New Year.
The 29-year-old limped out of Aachen's 2-1 defeat at Hertha Berlin at the weekend following a hefty challenge from Croatian international Josip Simunic.
After being rushed to hospital medical examinations revealed he had broken his foot, meaning Rosler is now targeting a spring return.
The latest injury to befall the newly promoted side comes at a crucial juncture of the season, as Aachen are currently just three points adrift of the drop zone and will be keen to steer clear of the bottom three before the winter break.
