Bundesliga new boys Arminia Bielefeld will have to make do without striker Isaac Boakye for at least four weeks due to injury.

The talented 22-year-old Ghanaian returned to the club earlier this week after collecting a knock whilst playing for his country's Under-21 side.

An examination by Bielefeld's medical staff has now revealed torn knee ligaments that will keep Boakye out of the team for some time.

"It's a nasty sort of injury," said sport director Thomas von Heesen. "It will take at least three or four weeks.

"At the moment it is impossible to say how long it will be before he is playing again."

The news is a massive blow to Bielefeld as they attempt to make a decent start to the new season with Boakye regarded as a key man in their quest for Bundesliga survival.
