Eintracht Frankfurt have announced the signing of experienced midfielder Makoto Hasebe on a two-year contract.
The Japan international arrives on a free transfer from relegated Nurnburg.
Hasebe finds himself on the move just 12 months after completing his last switch, with five years at Wolfsburg brought to a close in 2013.
He struggled with injury throughout his solitary campaign at Nurnburg, restricting him to just 15 appearances.
The 30-year-old, who operates in a holding role in the middle of the park, will be hoping that a fresh start brings about a reversal in fortune and allows him to rediscover his top form.
Frankfurt general manager Bruno Hubner told the club's official website: "We are delighted to have signed Makoto Hasebe.
"He is an experienced performer of Bundesliga quality that has underlined his skills in all of his years in the league.
"We are wishing Makoto Hasebe all the best for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, as he will be serving as captain of his country during the tournament."
