Frankfurt midfielder Alexander Meier is set for a spell of up to five weeks on the sidelines after sustaining a thigh injury.
The 26-year-old suffered the problem in his club's German Cup victory over former side Hamburg on Wednesday evening.
Meier was forced out of the match after just 10 minutes of the first half and doctors have now confirmed that he is facing a period of rehabilitation.
Frankfurt team doctor Matthias Feld told the club's official website: "Alexander Meier was injured in the match.
"He will be out of action for three to five weeks. He has sustained a thigh injury."
