Uncertain future for Hildebrand

Timo Hildebrand admits he is unsure what the future holds after parting company with Hoffenheim.

Goalkeeper yet to receive any offers for next season

Timo Hildebrand admits he is unsure what the future holds after parting company with Hoffenheim. The 31-year-old goalkeeper is out of contract after failing to make 41 appearances for Hoffenheim over the course of the past 18 months. Had he reached that mark he would have triggered a clause in his contract which would have seen him automatically offered a new deal. The former Germany international is now facing up to an uncertain summer, as he has revealed that he is yet to receive any approaches for next season. "I am keeping myself fit and training every day, but I have nothing lined up," he told BILD. Hildebrand's career has stagnated since he left Stuttgart to join Spanish outfit Valencia in 2007.

Hindsight

Although he was able to force his way into the starting XI at Mestalla early on, he soon tumbled down the pecking order. A lack of action saw him slip out of international reckoning and he was omitted from Germany's Euro 2008 squad as a result. He admits the last few years have not gone as planned, but insists he has no regrets about the decisions he has made. "I had a bad time there (Valencia)," he admitted. "But I gained experience and have never regretted it. "In hindsight, though, you have got to say that it could have worked out better."
