Eintracht Frankfurt striker Benjamin Kohler has agreed a new two-year contract extension with the club.

The 25-year-old put pen-to-paper on the new deal this week and will now be staying at the Commerzbank Arena until 2009.

Frankfurt coach Friedhelm Funkel expressed his happiness at the news: "I'm delighted that Benni has extended his contract.

"He's an important player for us and I think we can expect good things from him in the future.

"He's proven that he deserves a place in our first-team squad and we know that he enjoys being at this club," he added.

Kohler joined Frankfurt in 2004 and has made 16 league appearances this season, scoring one goal.
