Eintracht Frankfurt defender Chris has put pen to paper on an extended contract at the Kommerzbank Stadion.

The Brazilian defender agreed a new deal keeping him in Frankfurt until June 2009 after impressing club bosses during the Bundesliga season so far.

"We are extremely happy that we have been able to tie him to the club for the coming years," said Frankfurt chairman Heribert Bruchhagen.

"Chris has made great leaps forward during his time in Frankfurt and has developed into a key team player for coach Friedhelm Funkel."

The 27-year-old stopper joined Frankfurt in the summer of 2003 and has made a total of 55 league appearances for the 1959 German champions.
