On-loan Nurnberg striker Julian Schieber has been ruled out for six weeks due to a knee injury.

On-loan striker sustains knee injury in training

Nurnberg have been rocked by a knee injury suffered by on-loan striker Julian Schieber which is set to leave the club's leading scorer on the sidelines for six weeks. The 22-year-old has scored seven goals in the Bundesliga since arriving on a season-long deal from Stuttgart and has been an integral member of Dieter Hecking's first team. But Schieber has damaged meniscus fibres in his left knee during training and is facing more than a month of rehabilitation. Nurnberg general manager Martin Bader told Kicker: "Julian has been injured in training. He will be out of action. "We are not going to underestimate the injury he has sustained and we will be giving him maximum support to enable his recovery. "We would be happy if he rejoins training as soon as possible."
