Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund are being linked with a bid for Hannover midfielder Jan Rosenthal.
The 23-year-old, who won 16 caps as a Germany U21-international, is under contract at Hannover until next June, with the club having an option to extend his deal by 12 months.
But Dortmund are thought to be lining up a bid of about £900,000 for the player, who has made nine starts in the German top-flight this term.
Rosenthal's agent Christoph Leutrum told BILD: "We are aware that (Dortmund manager) Jurgen Klopp has been closely keeping tabs on the progress of Jan for quite some time now."
While Borussia Dortmund general manager Michael Zorc admitted the club believe Rosenthal is a good player, he played down the speculation.
He told BILD: "Jan Rosenthal is a good player, but it is true before a transfer window that rumours regarding clubs and potential targets are beginning to spread."
