Czech striker set to move to Bundesliga

Veteran Czech striker Jan Koller is close to a move to German outfit Nurnberg. The Bundesliga side are locked in negotiations with Koller's current employers Monaco over a possible move. The 34-year-old prefers to move and believes the deal will go through so the French side can cash in on him as he can leave for free in the summer. Speaking of the situation, Koller said: "I started training with Monaco on Wednesday and now I am waiting to see how the discussions with Nurnberg turn out.

Negotiating

"The clubs are still negotiating but within a very short time the decision should be made. I expect it to be done on Thursday. "There still are two options - either I leave or I will stay in Monaco until the summer." When asked which of the possibilities is the more likely, Koller said: "Probably Nurnberg. My Monaco contract expires in the summer and this is a chance for them to get some money for me.
Favour
"I favour Nurnberg mainly because they don't count on me any more at Monaco. And they are offering me a two-and-a-half year contract which I will not get at any other club, with respect to my age." Koller is no stranger to the Bundesliga after playing for Borussia Dortmund for five seasons following his switch from Anderlect for £7.5 million in 2001. He moved to Monaco on a free transfer in June 2006 and has scored three goals in Ligue 1 this season from 11 starts and seven substitute appearances.
