Borussia Dortmund have ended their search for an understudy to first-choice goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller by agreeing terms with Bernd Meier.

The 33-year-old currently plies his trade in the Bundesliga Zwei for LR Ahlen, and is expected to put pen to paper on a deal in the next few days.

The former 1860 Munich keeper is set to replace Guillame Warmuz, who has indicated his desire to leave the Westfalen Stadion in the summer.

Warmuz, a former Arsenal man, has grown tired of playing back-up to 24-year-old Weidenfeller - a role that Meier may have to get used to at the financially stricken outfit.
