Wolfsburg midfielder Aaron Hunt has admitted that he is disappointed not to be playing regularly so far this season.

The 28-year-old joined the Wolves in the summer transfer window after his contract with fellow Bundesliga club Werder Bremen ran out at the end of last season.

Hunt has made just two league starts so far this campaign and is baffled by Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking’s decision not to play him regularly.

“I do not understand the decision, but I do not have to understand,” the German told the Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung. “It is the manager who picks the team, and I have to accept and respect that decision.

“Even though it’s tough, I do not regret the transfer (from Bremen to Wolfsburg).  I am not playing much actually of course, but I cannot blame myself.

“I am doing fine in training and when I am getting the time to play, I am quite decent. All I can do is train wel. The manager will pick the team.”
