Wolfsburg have yet to draw up a shortlist of managers to succeed Felix Magath after the former boss resigned last week.
Ex-Holland boss Bert van Marwijk, previous Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster and even legendary Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn have all been reported as candidates.
But Wolfsburg, who have Lorenz-Gunther Kostner in caretaker charge, are to take their time before deciding on the man they want to follow Magath, who quit with the club in the Bundesliga relegation zone.
The club's chairman of the board of directors, Stephan Gruhsam, told Bild: "We are still starting to look at the moment.
"At first, we will talk about strategies and about chances, no doubt. We will then work out certain profiles.
"Just now, we have a clean sheet of paper. As we said, Lorenz-Gunther Kostner is serving as our caretaker manager for the time being."
