Wolfsburg have confirmed that Borussia Dortmund are keen to sign Diego Klimowicz.
VFL Wolfsburg have confirmed reports that Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund are keen to bring Diego Klimowicz to the Signal-Iduna-Stadium.
Daily newspaper Ruhr-Nachrichten claimed that signing the giant Argentine forward is a top priority for the Black-and-Yellows.
Coach Thomas Doll is reportedly desperate to increase competition up front, where only Alexander Frei has fulfilled the expectations, while Nelson Valdez, Matthew Amoah, Ebi Smolarek and Nelson Valdez have failed to find the net on a regular basis.
Ç£Dortmund have contacted us, but I am not ready to think about it until the player himself contacts me,Ç¥ declared Wolfsburg's managing director Klaus Fuchs.
The 32-year-old Klimowicz is tied to the Wolves until 2008 and given his age Dortmund's offer might prove his last chance to seal a lucrative move to another Bundesliga club.
Dortmund are believed to have offered é¼2 million (£1.3million) for the 32-year-old forward, but it remains to be seen if Wolfsburg are willing to lose their all-time leading goalscorer.
