VfL Wolfsburg have beaten off competition from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund to the signature of Trabzonspor playmaker Marcelinho.
The Brazilian schemer has failed to settle in Turkey, following his summer move from Hertha Berlin, and BVB and Wolfsburg were linked with January bids.
Dortmund pulled out of the running on Friday, saying the player's demands were beyond their means, and this left the way clear for Wolfsburg to push through a deal.
And the club issued a statement on their website saying a deal had been struck to bring the 31-year-old back to Germany.
Marcelinho has signed a deal through to the summer of 2009, but a condition of the contract states that he must live within 35 kilometres of Wolfsburg.
