Wolves capture Boakye

Isaac Boakye has completed his move from Arminia Bielefeld to VfL Wolfsburg.

Isaac Boakye has completed his move from Arminia Bielefeld to VfL Wolfsburg.

The 24-year-old Ghanaian international has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at the VW Arena after successfully completing a medical on Monday.

Boakye missed out on Ghana's World Cup squad following a bad year with injury, having previously helped Bielefeld to promotion in the 2004/2005 season.

Wolfsburg general manager Klaus Fuchs is very happy with his most recent capture and is sure he will become an important member of his squad.

"I am sure that Isaac will prove to be a very important addition to our squad," said Fuchs. "He was our number one target for this position."

Boakye is just the latest name to arrive at the VW Arena in recent weeks after the Wolves secured the signings of Alexander Madlung, Jacek Krzynowek, Uwe Mohle and Michael Stegmayer.
