Ghana international Hans Sarpei has agreed a three-year deal with Wolfsburg, which ties him to the Bundesliga outfit until 2007.

The versatile midfielder, who can also operate in defence, joined Wolves in 2001 from MSV Duisburg and is clearly delighted to extend his stay at the Volkswagen-Arena.

''I am happy in Wolfsburg and am confident that the team has the potential to achieve great things,'' said Sarpei.

Sarpei, who has been employed in a more defensive position this term, is now set for an extended run in his favoured midfield berth, in light of Pablo Thiam's injury.

Further good news for Wolves comes in the return from injury of mercurial playmaker Andres D'Alessandro.

The talented Argentinian has been forced to watch Wolfsburg's last two Bundesliga games from the sidelines, but should return from a troublesome ankle injury to feature against Uefa Cup rivals Hamburg at the weekend.
