BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH goalkeeper Jorg Stiel hopes to be back between the posts in time to face Bochum at the end of September.

The Swiss international keeper has been out of the Foals side for the last three weeks after picking up a knee injury, but is hopeful of a swift return to duty after taking part in his first training session.

"I can do everything as usual, but I've got to get 100 percent confidence in my knee again," Stiel said on Wednesday.

Gladbach coach Ewald Lienen, who signed veteran Claus Reitmaier from Wolfsburg last week but played inexperienced youngster Michael Melka in Sunday's home defeat to Frankfurt, will be hoping that Stiel's return will help stop his team's slide down the Bundesliga table.

The talismanic shot-stopper could only watch helplessly from the sidelines when his successor Melka was at fault during the 2-0 loss to Frankfurt.

Stiel now hopes to overcome his problems in time for the game against Bochum on September 27.
