Hamburg defender Michael Mancienne has said that he wants to carry on playing for the club.
The 26-year-old has started HSV's last three Bundesliga games after a long time out of the team.
The former Chelsea centre-back was deemed surplus to requirements by former Hamburg managers Thorsten Fink and Bert van Marwijk, but new boss Mirko Slomka appears to favour him.
Mancienne's current contract with the German outfit runs until June 2015 and the Englishman wants to stay on at the Imtech Arena.
"Of course, I would like to remain with the club," he told the Hamburger Morgenpost newspaper.
"I would be delighted if the people at Hamburg would feel the same about it."
"At this point in time, I would not rule out anything in the case of Michael Mancienne, even not keeping him at our club," said Hamburg's general manager Oliver Kreuzer.
"It's incredible to see a player playing that way after he had been out for so long. He is doing great."
