Hamburg midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has advised the club's South Korean striker Heung-Min Son not to rush into a move away from the Bundesliga.

20-year-old Son has recently been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Liverpool both rumoured to favour an approach for the striker.

Van der Vaart, who returned to Hamburg after spells at Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, has advised the young striker that he would benefit from remaining at the club for the near future.

"Of course it is flattering to have a club like Liverpool enquiring"

"I can just say that he needs to play on for this club," Van der Vaart told Sport-BILD.

"Of course it is flattering to have a club like Liverpool enquiring. But over here he has the faith, over here he is playing regular first-team matches.

"Moving on would be way too early."

Son, who is currently contracted to the club until June 2014, has scored six goals in 13 appearances this season, and is Hamburg's top scorer.
