PSV have made an attempt to sign striker Danko Lazovic from Vitesse.
The Serbian-born player, who joined from Feyenoord in the summer, has made an immediate impact at Vitesse, becoming the club's top scorer with 13 goals already this season.
In Rotterdam he was never considered a likely replacement for Salomon Kalou or Dirk Kuyt, but he is currently attracting attention in Arnhem.
German side Hamburg have also shown interest in the player but Vitesse do not want to let him go in January.
In addition PSV have told Michael Ball, Michael Lamey and Arvid Smit they will not be offered a new deal at the club.
The players are all contracted until the summer but PSV are willing to let them go in January if an offer is made for them.
The Dutch giants will also allow defender Jelle de Bock, midfielder Ismael Aissati and striker Roy Beerens to complete the loan deals they are currently working on.
PSV had already planned to loan out De Bock and Beerens to NEC Nijmegen, while Aissati is keen to join Utrecht.
PSV have also been contacted by Mexican club Tigres in an attempt to bring Robert back to Mexico.
But PSV cannot just accept the offer from Tigres as the player is currently on loan at Spanish side Real Betis until the end of the season.
And according to Betis chairman, Jose Leon, the Spanish club are considering making use of the option to buy the striker.
PSV are also expected to sign 17-year-old Brazilian Jonathan Reis, after he impressed during a week's trial at the club.
