AZ Alkmaar defender Joris Mathijsen looks set to seal a move to Hamburg.
The Bundesliga side have just lost one Dutch international, with Khalid Boulahrouz switching to Chelsea, but are hoping to compensate with the arrival of another.
Reports in Germany indicate that the transfer will be pushed through in the next few days, although Mathijsen is remaining cagey.
"I know that there is interest," the 26-year-old told his homeland press.
"If I can improve myself, AZ will co-operate. Provisionally I have to wait."
Hamburg are believed to have offered é¼6 million for Mathijsen and are looking to hand him a four-year contract.
Ajax starlet Ryan Babel is reportedly another target for Hamburg.
The 19-year-old striker has already broken into the Dutch set-up and has been tipped as a future superstar.
