Hamburg want Rolfes

HSV have revealed their interest in Simon Rolfes.

Talented German midfielder Simon Rolfes has added to his list of admirers, with Hamburg the latest club to show a keen interest.

FC Cologne and Borussia Monchengladbach have both already made their interest known in the former Under-21 international, but HSV are the most attractive club to monitor Rolfes' situation so far.

HSV boss Thomas Doll watched Rolfes impress in his last outing at Saarbrucken, and with Hamburg chasing European qualification, Doll will certainly have made a note of the eye-catching displays that Rolfes produced for Alemannia Aachen on their way to the knock-out stages of the Uefa Cup this season.

Rolfes still has another year to run on his current contract, but if Aachen fail to match his ambition of playing top flight football next season, the 23-year-old will surely find the prospect of a move to Hamburg irresistible.

A clause in in his contract allows Rolfes to leave for just ‚é¼650,000, a price that will not deter the growing queue of clubs waiting to secure his signature.
