Hamburg picked up their first win of the Bundesliga season to pile the misery on Borussia Dortmund at the Westfalenstadion, where they have won only once this season.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga scored only the northern Germany side's second goal of the season, but that proved to be enough as the strugglers won 1-0, lifting them off the foot of the table, above their rivals Werder Bremen.

Dortmund, so spectacular in Europe this season, slipped to within two points of the bottom three and a full 10 points behind league leaders Bayern Munich after their latest disappointing result in the Bundesliga.

Bayern Munich stamped their authority with a 4-0 win over Hannover which cements their place at the top of the standings going into the international break.

Robert Lewandowski and Arjen Robben both grabbed braces in a match which was already over after 13 minutes.

By that time, Bayern already led 2-0 with a goal from the Pole and the Dutchman, who added another goal each for Pep Guardiola's side's fifth win in seven Bundesliga games this season.

Hoffenheim moved up to second with a 2-1 win over Schalke, who followed up their midweek 1-1 Champions League draw with Maribor with a defeat which erases memories of their derby win over Dortmund a week ago.

Tarik Elyounoussi and Adam Szalai gave Hoffenheim a two-goal lead at the interval which could have been even greater had it not been for the heroics of goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann.

After losing Joel Matip to a red card, Schalke did find a goal through Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, but they were unable to find an equaliser as they were left empty-handed at the Rhein-Neckar Arena.

Bremen slumped to the bottom of the table as Freiburg turned up the heat on their former coach Robin Dutt by securing a 1-1 draw at the Weserstadion.

Vladimir Darida put the visitors in front from the penalty spot in the ninth minute, with Franco Di Santo getting the hosts back on level terms just after the half-hour mark.

There were no further goals, with Bremen wasting the best chances as both sides remained without a win after seven games of the season.

Karim Bellarabi celebrated his first Germany call-up with a last-minute equaliser to salvage a 2-2 draw for Bayer Leverkusen at home to plucky Paderborn.

Paderborn looked to have snatched a memorable win when Moritz Stoppelkamp put them 2-1 ahead with three minutes remaining but Bellarabi, who on Thursday was called up by national team coach Joachim Low for the first time, levelled right at the death for Roger Schmidt's men.

Earlier, Suleyman Koc had given Paderborn a 20th-minute lead with Lars Bender drawing the sides level just before the break.

Eintracht Frankfurt will spend Saturday night ahead of local rivals Mainz in fifth place thanks to a 3-2 win over Cologne at the Waldstadion.

In Saturday's late game, Marcel Risse gave the visitors the lead in the 15th minute, but Alexander Meier scored the first of his two goals just before half-time.

His second came just after the break with Jonas Hector levelling for the visitors, who found the back of the net again, albeit their own goal with Kevin Wimmer the unfortunate defender netting the winner for Frankfurt.
