Mame Diouf could make a surprise return to the Hannover side to face Borussia Dortmund at the weekend after returning to training on Tuesday.
The Senegal international has been beset by injuries, the latest a thigh strain at the end of last month which it was feared would rule him out for several weeks.
Only a fortnight later, he has returned to action, giving the thumbs up to a place in the squad which will travel to Dortmund at the weekend.
"I'm feeling good," the 25-year-old told Kicker magazine.
Former Manchester United forward Diouf scored two goals and set up another, contributing to the Reds winning their first three home games of the season before damaging his ankle.
His comeback against Bayer Leverkusen on September 28 lasted just 19 minutes, which is why the Lower Saxony club are unlikely to want to rush him back into a return, although with Didier Ya Konan ruled out until January he may be needed on Saturday.
