Tunisian defender Sofian Chahed has expressed his desire to remain at Hannover beyond the end of the season.
Chahed's current contract expires in the summer and it had looked as though he would be searching for a new club.
However, he has performed well over the past few weeks and hopes to sign a new deal to extend his stay at the AWD-Arena.
"I am really enjoying it at Hannover," Chahed, who joined the club from Hertha Berlin in 2009, told Bild.
"This chapter does not automatically come to an end at the end of the season.
"I am in a position to promote myself now, as I am starting regularly in the Bundesliga.
"I always gave my best in training, all the way through, and I am sure I have all the qualities required."
